JuCa
A friend of mine wants me to go to Mass with her on Saturday morning. It is a Tridentine Mass at a Pius X church. Will this be a valid Mass? Should I go?? She says a lot of people have problems with...but this is a weekday Mass so it doesn't matter. If it is a weekend Mass it would maybe. I'm confused. I don't want to be going against church teaching on anything.
Carson Weber
If the Mass is celebrated by the Society of St. Pius X, you must not go (even if it is just a daily Mass), for they have been formally excommunicated from the Church and are no longer Catholic. If the Mass is an indult Tridentine Mass, which means that it is celebrated with the Catholic bishop's permission, then it is okay to attend.
