That image makes me think of something else. lol Many of the First Communions that I've gone to within the last few years do not require the girls to wear veils. I was required to wear one.

Ooooooooh pretty dress! The gloves are boss. I want to wear gloves at my wedding, and I want my husband to wear a top hat.

I had to wear a veil too. I loved it. I felt like I was a little bride.

make sure he removes it in prayer, the same as when the priest would remove his biretta. (which, come to think of it, was likely how the 1917 code's permissions for male head coverings were applied... to top hats and such in wedding parties, though they would certainly remove the hats for prayer I would presume)

anyway, I'm just joining in MrCatholicCat's hyperbolic image campaigns... don't you all think this is so much better:

My sisters and I wore the same veil and dress for all our First Communion

Of course! I only meant that he wore the hat outside of church. What do you take me for? :P

lol I dunno, maybe you were going to vote it was only sinful for women, you could be an evil Muslim sexist plotting to put hijabs on all women while letting men do whatever they want!

I think that head covering and uncovered heads is more of out of respect issue!

I think women should be encouraged to wear a head covering at Mass.

To say it's a down right sin...i am not sure!

Al! This picture just gave me a great twist for the Q on Women Veiling thread!

I think the purpose of this thread was to get an idea about what Phatmass, as a whole, feels about head coverings. It makes sense to construct a poll because this way the members who are shy about getting into a debate (for fear of being judged or criticized) can anonymously state their opinion.
