Why not just adopt? There are many children out there who are in need of loving parents and a good home, [/quote]

adoption is a caring option! i haven't tried to do so as a single person. but i think adoption is a wonderful solution to couples who suffer from not having any children, or who are open to more. adopting a baby or kid or fostering a young person shows even greater love than rescuing a cute pound puppy. siblings are a special gift. they stretch the family's virtues to love more. to get particular, i think traditionally married couples are the best candidates to adopt, but even in Anne of Green Gables an old brother and sister family unity adopted a young girl and she turned out beautifully. it'd be sad to live in an orphanage...but it's better to LIVE than to not be born at all. orphanages are a ministry which i'm afraid have been neglected in our times and regions - i've read about Missionary Sisters of Charity who helped with orphanages - this is a kindly way to take care of them as they wait to hopefully be adopted. even if there's some of us who are singles and not sure how to make a difference in the world, we can always make time and effort to PRAY hard for the children that will be born and need good homes, and make a point of sharing the difficult truth with others (like the Catechism quote I posted) to lead people AWAY from temptation. following temptations into living in sins would just make life more troublesome and difficult. it's easier and happier to spend our life doing good. but how do we know what's good - by informing our consciences. Catholics are blessed with the Catechism as a guide. others can check it too for moral guidance. the Catechism corrects us when we're mistaken, and shows us the Way, the Truth, and the Life: Jesus.
