9/11 Trials

I'm about to go to class, but I was wondering if anyone else has been following the 9/11 Trials this week?

The Michael Clark interrogation was really amazing and really disturbing this afternoon - he talked about all the Al Queda details that were known and unknown since the Clinton administration through GW administration and what was done and what could have been done to prevent 9/11 - the failures of the FBI, CIA, NSA, etc...

He also made an eery statement on Sept. 4th 2001 before requesting a transfer off Bush's security staff about a serious terrorist act about to happen and how the President would be prepared to deal with it.

If it rerunds tonight be sure to check it out - either on FOX, MSNBC, CNBC, CNN!

It's all sort of scary that all this was going on and the American public had no idea about the eminent danger threats that were being sounded to deaf ears since the end of Clinton in '00 and the beginning of Bush in '01.

Madeline Albright gave her POV yesterday about her role under Clinton and I really hope Condeleeza Rice takes the stand to fill in the gaps during GW's administration.

Any watchers/ comments?

Dr. Rice DIDN'T GO!!! The White House told her not to go! Full and uncomprimised commentment from the GWB admin?!? That doesn't seem to be the case. Sorry, Dr. Rice not going just kind of makes me really mad at someone. LOL.

oh for the record the guy's name is Richard Clarke, not Michael.

It really smells of elderberries that she is not going! I would really like to hear her defend herself, because Clarke left a lot of questions open that only she can answer or verify.

Plus that Senate panel really made Rumsfeld and Powell look embarassed when they tried to defend the administration's postition of not letting her testify.

If what the Bush administration says is true, thus conflicting with Clarke's testimony, this would be exactly what Dr. Rice needs to clear her name and the President's name.

I'm not TOTALLY gungho about Bush, but I really want his side to be true in this case because I can't imagine what it would do to America if it was false.

Also that CIA director needs to be outed by Bush because his misinformation is way too damaging for Bush's re-election campaign. I think that would send a positive message to the American people complimenting the appology his administration has already given.

NEWS: Bush has agreed to testify to the 9/11 Commission, but not under oath, and Dr. Rice will be testifying under oath!!! This is FYI because this thread is kinda dead, but I'm excited...

The 9/11 trials are such a waste of time and money.

carp happens, they've been trying to take down the WTC before. People should have reacted back in the 70's/80's to hunt down the terrorists and take them out.

If it wasn't the WTC it would have been others. The issue is with airport security, not the government. No one could have possibly known it was a real threat. Threats have been coming for the last 20 years. Sixteen years ago when I was in tenth grade these type of threats were coming. My world history teacher always talked about how we would be the last generation to be able to enjoy a football game. For example, one coke can size can of mustard gas could do serious damage inside a football stadium. It would be very easy to get it into one before game day.

The 9/11 trials are nothing more than a red herring to make people thing that something is being done about it. Just like all the joke SPAM legislation that the US laws can't do a thing about... most SPAM comes from China or India... no law will stop spam... just another red herring to make the people "happy". The American need to blame someone is sickening... it spills over into our courts where innocent/guilty is nothing more than a game. Doesn't matter that these are people's lives.

It would be nice if they actually did some productive work instead of wasting time.

"Come on senators, enough with your red herrings and filibustering!"

God Bless,

I'd personally like to know how much was known and what wasn't done so this specific event could have been prevented - starting with Bush Sr. to Clinton to GWBush.

I stood in that lobby 5 yrs ago and I still can't believe those towers (and all those innocent people) were destroyed within a few hours. It's also a neat sneak peak into National Security opperations.

Clarke's testimony last week was particularly interesting and disturbing. If anything Dr. Rice and GWBush should have an acurate refutal if what they say is true and has always been true.

I don't think it will play a major part in determining the election, but I'm waiting to see how they answer and who's really lying. Everybody should watch!

I don't think it's a waste of time. It's only fair to the victim's families and the public to know why the government messed up so badly.
