puellapaschalis
I don't think the Holy Father himself offered Mass for them, but he gave permission for their funeral Masses to be held yesterday.
Apotheoun
Yeah, the article I read indicated that the Pope gave a dispensation so that Mass could be celebrated on Good Friday. It doesn't say that he himself celebrated Mass for the victims of the earthquake.
Vincent Vega
So when can I resume what I gave up?
Resurrexi
In the extraordinary form, Lent proper ends on Dominica Prima Passionis (Passion Sunday, the Sunday before Palm Sunday) and Passiontide begins; however, the Lenten fasting and discipline did not end at the beginning of Passiontide. In times long ago, in fact, lenten discipline would increase as the Triduum became closer. Also, the singing of the Gloria on Holy Thursday is not due to the fact that Passiontide has ended, but is becuase Holy Thursday is seen a Feast of the First Class, during which the Gloria is always sung (similarly, if the Annunciation were to land during the first week of Passiontide the Gloira would be sung then as well). Passiontide ends with the Easter Vigil.

If its chocolate, go to mass tonight and then buy some M&Ms. If its heroin, then never.

homeschoolmom
Which reminds me.... Please go to http://cakewrecks.blogspot.com/ and scroll down to the lamb w/cigarette Easter cakes. Anyone have any idea why this is a multi cake store phenomenon? Other than "Lent is over! Yippy! We can return to our vices!!"
