Brother Adam
Your link does not work, but I really don't like sites that video cast the Eucharist. You cannot do Eucharistic adoration over the Internet anymore than you can do confession over the phone.

This site is meant for people who can't get to adoration. For example if someone is at work, and has a break. Its run by really orthodox nuns in philadelphia and they specifically say that this site is not meant to replace in person adoration AT ALL, but to supplement it. MissyP89
I tried. It feels goofy to me, especially after going for real.

Masses have been televised forever for people who can't be there. Surely you don't disapprove of those? I just about always have the small window open. HisChildForever
I have heard of this website before. Is it a live feed? I think I read on the website that the Eucharist is not displayed during certain hours, which means it is a cam. But I can't find where it said that. Lounge Daddy
Yes, it's live. It's like the tv Mass if you cannot get to Mass. I think it's a fantastic idea. I actually have it on my desktop when I pray the Liturgy of the Hours (which is also available online thanks to Universalis). A laptop is a portable chapel and Catholic library with that stuff and also EWTN for television and articles and e-books, and Ave Maria Radio, and Catholic Tube for video on demand. Old_Joe
I kinda agree with Bro. Adam. It's no substitute for the Real Presence, but I understand having it for people who couldn't make it like the televised Masses for the home bound. On a silly note, Does this mean I can download Jesus?
Lounge Daddy
I dunno -- I think there is a reflexive rejection of technology and anything "new." Pope John XXIII upset quite a few people for wanting to do television broadcast from within the Vatican. People accused him of turning the place into a circus. If a Catholic Priest issues a blessing on television during a live broadcast, you can receive the blessing (of course this is no good during re-runs, hehe). A live video feed of the Blessed Sacrament is a valid thing. And if I needed a priest to hear a confession, and couldn't get to confession, why couldn't a priest hear my confession over a phone? Padre Pio has even been said to bi-locate in order to hear the confessions of dying people when no priest is available. It is the same reason why confessions cannot be made over the Internet. The personal presence of a priest is required for sacramental confession. the problem with a broadcast of the Eucharist is no true adoration can take place. Christ's abiding presence is not sent in electrons through the Internet and is therefore not on your computer screen. All you get is a picture. Any attempt to worship the picture would be paramount to idolatry - as if you were worshiping a holy card with the Eucharist printed on it. I don't see anything implicitly wrong with a live feed of the Eucharist, I think it can cause a great deal of confusion.

This site gives you a focus on Jesus day or night anywhere you can get internet. A live image is an excellent thing to have, especially on a bad day.
