M.SIGGA
When I made my First Communion at 6 yrs old, my priest made the little kids recieve Eucharist on the tongue and there was no reception of the Precious Blood. I've never been instructed on how we are supposed to recieve the Precious Blood other than the recent instruction of bowing my head. Is there an instruction on how we are supposed to hold the chalice or how much to drink, etc? Should we Sign ourselves afterwards like when recieving the Eucharist? I know this sounds silly but I want to do it how the Church suggests or instructs, especially since I've started attending daily Mass. Thanks. BLAZEr
All the Church requires is a sign of reverence. The US Bishops have said that a Bow of the Head is a sufficient sign of reverence. More than that, its up to you. There are no hard and fast rules, to how to hold it, just make sure you don't drop it. I see most people do a one hand on the cup, one hand at the base method. BTW, it was cool to finally meet you this weekend.
