ardillacid
It's too bad, Kutner was my favorite of his new staff. 13 bores me, and Taub is annoying. Kutner at least had some depth to his character
Kal Penn wanted out of his contract so he asked the producers to kill off his character. He was offered a position as the associate director in the White House office of public liaison. Since the producers of House hate Obama, they had Cutner killed off suicide style. Needless to say, he was quite surprised and somewhat irritated they killed him off that way.
Interesting theory...
Nihil Obstat
I kinda like Taub. He's not perfect, obviously, since having a perfect character would be boring, but I see him as being a mostly good guy.

Brother Adam
Wow, the producers like Amber, they keep finding ways to bring her back. Good way to pump some life back into the series. Not sure how much longer they can keep doing the same thing though. It really is beginning to venture into soap opera territory.

Pretty obvious with the strange ways they manage to make her important. Personally I don't like her at all and never did. New material... tough for a show like this. Remember earlier in this season, when it was really mostly about the cases? That got boring, so obviously the show is just as much, if not more about the characters than the cases. That's clear to everyone. So the challenge they have is to develop the characters in a consistent way that's true to the themes of the show...... Brother Adam
Right, which is why I pretty much hate everything after season 3. The first 2 seasons there was actually some science, albeit not very good science. I'd prefer to watch Scrubs than House if all we are going to do is try to develop the characters. I have to say that I like what they're doing with it, mostly. Not perfect, but I do like it. When they spend too much time on the cases, I tend to get bored. All the stuff goes entirely over my head, and a half hour after the episode ends I forgot what they guy was diagnosed with. The character development though, has the potential to stick with me. I think House's character is fascinating. Analyzing his motivation and deeper beliefs is so complex. The thing with Cutner, while completely out of the blue, brought an interesting dynamic. Analyzing why is worthless since there was no why, but seeing how people reacted was quite interesting. If I wanted medical drama, I'd spend some time at the emergency room. (I did that once. I spent a shift with my aunt, who is a nurse, in the emergency room. Incredible experience.) Edited May 8, 2009 by Nihil Obstat
Brother Adam
Yeah, I"m like that. The show just lost something and seemed to be stretching for shock value after the third season. The finale for season 4 was wicked awesome, but to me it all feels the same now.
