Investigating the Similarities
In this section, we will investigate the alleged similarities between Jesus and other deities which leave critics speculating aspects of Jesus' life were borrowed from other figures of antiquity. After examining the actual texts of the religions in question most similarities will be found to not even exist but to have been fabricated by authors who prey upon the reader's ignorance of foreign religions.
This website is from a Non-Catholic Apologist in the defense of Christianity, while some of their writings may not be friendly to Catholicism, it most certainly presents well thought out and researched information. From 0:00 to 6:12, it appears most of the video's commentator's assumptions concerning these figures are false, though some of what they propoesd is true, but I do not see it relating to their argument.

From 6:12 to 7:16, is the commentator’s own tangent. The Scripture account suggests that the three wise men, or the three kings, were educated men and watched the stars. It seems that something as simple as this would not attract their attention.

From 7:16 to 8:22, is another tangent from the video’s commentator since the Scriptures do not give us the date of Christmas, the Birth of our Blessed Lord. It is by tradition that we honor the birth of Christ when we do; It appears their argument does not logically follow that there is any connection between these supposed points of reference.

From 8:22 to 8:32 does not follow logically, though our Blessed Lord was in the tomb three days, it was not precisely three days. Friday afternoon to Sunday morning does not equal three days, so even if their supposed other figures did have a death and resurrection (most that the commentator mentioned didn’t), it still wouldn’t be similar.

From 8:40 to 8:47, I almost wonder if the commentator knows that both hemispheres have different seasons, and the commentator does not connect spring with salvation logically. Easter we celebrate from tradtion (in fact the Eastern Rites celebrate Easter on a diffrent date), and for the Latin Rite it is not in March this year like the year before.

From 9:10 to 9:34, there is simply no logical evidence to what they suggested, our Blessed Lord had MANY (more than twelve) Disciples, but HE had twelve APOSTLES. So there is no or little connection.

The commentator provides no sources or evidence for their claims; neither do they go about explaining where this information is from. The video commentator appears to in a vague smearing of non-Christian idols and astrology, attempts to suggest that these beliefs are personifications of nature. There is no evidence that the early Christians were attempting to emulate pagan beliefs, use astrology, or personify the seasons.

Moreover, if it could be argued that nature follows God’s Law then it is possible these natural events are showing somehow God’s involvement in the world, but it appears this video commentator is in someway following the heresy of naturalism: that is all things are merely natural and material.

Still it seems problems exist in their whole line of thought... Maybe this helps you?

as zig's article shows most of what is raised is BS. That there are some "conicidences" and that there are things in pagan mythology that are like what is in Christianity is no surprize. Paul actually uses a quote from pagan sages "in him we live and move and have our being" in Acts 17. There are other "pagan influences" in scripture. So what. God's laws are implanted on all men's hearts Romans 2 14-16. one of those is the first commandment. Thus all men are drawn toward the one true God. Which is what Isaiha means when he says all men are drawn to the highest mountain. Christ and his Chruch. I'll look up the verse if you like. Anyway point is that this is manifest, however imperfectly in men's culture and religion. That is why missionaries throughout the ages have tried to learn the culture and language of the people, including their religion in order to convert them using concepts that they understood alread.

one example of this is that a priest came to our parish a few years back who was a missionary in New Guniea. New Guneea was a place where canabalism was prevalent even well in to the 1900's. Imagine getting that asssignment. Anyway, the people were readily converted to Christianity because they understood the Eucharist.

here is an article that might be of some help in your discusssions as well as zig's article.
