Mithraism + Pagan Religions Vs. Christianity

I was doing my usual apologetics rounds when a friend of mine brought up the point that Mithraism and other Pagan religions are so close to Christianity that they disprove that Christianity is a religion born of Syncretism. I know this is false, but can someone give me concrete evidence to prove this. Thanks and Godbless.

One can hardly prove such a thing in a brief forum post, however I propose a copy of The Idea of the Holy by Otto and the Sacred and the Profane by Eliade.
