RB7
I love and respect the Habit also...Even though I choose not to wear it, and I chose to be in a non-habited community. I know each one of my Sisters has an aura about her that makes one pause, and of course they get asked the question.."Are you a Sister?" Is our Witness Visible Enough for people to see? In my community I would say yes. As far as Lay people investing in and wearing a habit of some sort to church, I can see both sides of this issue. It's between the person and God Ultimately. However, the preciousness of receiving the Habit, is truly That, Intimate and Precious, so I can see why some women may be upset about Lay people wearing habits outside of an Order in which they were received. Ultimately, you do have courage to wear it, and I don't think you are wearing it in an sacreligious manner in your heart.
