wow. obama is partying it up at the white house while the economy staggers and there are soldiers fighting in hellish places in the middle east...

not to mention babies dying...

also, not playing nice with allies because of personal grudges?

this doesn't suprise me at all. it is typical of your not so friendly neighborhood socialist dictator

I didn't say that England asked for it back. I said Obama said they could take it back, i.e. he had no need of it and didn't want it.

I just read some articles about that visit... It really does sound like an enormous snub. That's quite humiliating for Gordon Brown, and I imagine for the White House administration as well.

Good luck making America look better in the eyes of the world...

Oh no, I know you didn't say that. I didn't come across well, sorry. I was just emphasising that point that Obama said they could have it back. Or trying to emphasise that. Sorry for the confusion!

He's only concerned about the eyes of the black world and/or the Muslim world (black AND Muslim would be optimum for him). He doesn't truly give a rat's bippy if the non-black, non-Muslim world hates us. He's married to a woman who publicly declared she had no respect for America her WHOLE LIFE UNTIL her husband ran for president. And Obama sat in the church pews of a rabid hater of America for nearly 20 years. During his campaign he repeatedly made under-handed and glib comments about Americans, from "wanting to heat your houses at 72 degrees all day" to "clinging to guns and religion", even referring to his own white grandmother and all people of her generation as "one of those types". He's made this country out to be greedy, bigoted and racist...even as this very country elected him to the presidency. Obama is not and never has been a man who loves this country. Therefore, the reputation of this country really means nothing to him. He just wants power. That is all.

How embarrassing for the actual professionals in the foreign office and the state department who take protocol and dignified adult behavior seriously. I bet they miss President Bush.

Michelle Malkin has a link on her blog where you can sent a note over the internet to apologize to PM Brown on behalf of our ridiculous excuse for a president and to send well wishes to him and the British people to thank them for their continued support as our partner and staunch ally:

My letter:
Downing Street 10
London SW1A 2AA
United Kingdom

Prime Minister Brown,

I am a high school student in the United States. I recently became aware of the insulting treatment which has been rendered unto you by our newly installed President Obama. His actions are truly inexcusable, and are nothing short of disgraceful to not only you and the entire people of the United Kingdom, but to the people of the United States, as well. I assure you that many of us still do have basic manners and know how to receive and treat guests. I also assure you that many of us continue to recognise that the United Kingdom is the most important ally, economically, militarily, and otherwise, to the United States. As a host would receive his brother into his home, so should the President of the United States receive the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom. This, much to the chagrin of the many of the population of the US, has not happened during this administration thus far. As there are still more than three years that remain, I sincerely hope that this attitude will become a thing of the past.
Regardless, there is no excuse for how you have been treated by our Chief Executive, and on behalf of him, our government, and our people, I apologise for his actions. I sincerely hope that what he has done, and what he has failed to do, will not permanently damage relations between two of the most influential nations on the face of our earth. My hope is that the pomp and circumstance of the diplomacy of the nations may be restored and that our President Obama will recognise that what he has done is not acceptable in the eyes of his people.

May God bless you and yours, and both the United Kingdom and United States, and may He allow both to have many years of collective prosperity and cooperation in the future.

With my apologies,
That was awesome. I wrote mine, too, and I mentioned that Obama's actions (or lack thereof) most certainly do not reflect the basic values of warmth, generosity, friendship and gratitude of most Americans.
