tinytherese
Oh, the joys of going to a women's college. One of my friends expressed to me that she sees God as a woman, thinking that God being portrayed as male is just another way for men to dominate the world and in this case everything. For a woman in power is unthinkable.

CatherineM
If Jesus can subject himself to a Father's will, then so can I.
Noel's angel
We had a nun and a priest come into our school to tell us that God was a woman. When will these people ever learn

I do remember reading Ratzinger (before he was the Pope) saying that while God was nether male nor female the fact that Jesus was male and adressed himself (? ) as "Father" that was important. I don't know exactly what that means though
Mari Therese
I think that the reason why we address God as Father is because He chose to reveal himself as such. In the OT and NT God always presents Himself as father and from Adam to now, there has always been the Tradition of everyone (Prophets, preachers, teachers and laypersons) addressing God as the Father. Galloglasses' Alt
What reality do you people live in? honestly, I think i'm sheltered the worst thing of this sort I have ever dealt with was a Mass, singular, where the liturgy was, as far as I was concerned, horrifically abused. Then I come to the internets and hear absolute horror stories. And this 'Goddess' craic has never happened to me. Guess I should count myself lucky. Perhaps someone can explain this better than me.
