tinytherese
So when discussing homosexuality with some of my peers and I attempted to explain the church's teaching on the issue and when I brought up sacred scripture on the issue they said that it was not condemning people for choosing the lifestyle of having a parter of the same sex but that it was condemning the act of homosexual intercourse. So what can be said in regards to this?
CatherineM
Romans 1:24-32 calls it for what it is - a dishonor to the body, and exchanging God's truth for a lie. For St. Paul, this sexual rebellion against nature is a mirror to our spiritual rebellion against God. 1 Corinthians 6:9 says that active homosexuals won't inherit the kingdom of God. Those are some pretty serious things to consider. When trying to talk to someone who is so staunchly set down a wrong path, I would recommend reading up on the subject at Courage. It is the official Catholic ministry to those caught up in same sex attraction. They can answer a lot of questions you may not have even thought of yet.
