foolishmortal
It was pretty good. It was more like a filmed play or an afterschool special. It had great points. The father points out that we have trouble showing love to those who give us grief and hurt God, but he keeps loving us unconditionally. That love was good What I didn't like was that it didn't mention that divorce was not a separation of the two fleshes, according to God, and so the flame burning out was no grounds for divorcing. On the other had, the fact they really didn't know God may cover why they would divorce. Still, the black friend or the father could have still made that point as a retrospect, if they wanted to be Biblical (unless the previous marriage of one character in the story wasn't valid to God). It's still worth a see, though, as people should treat their spouse or anyone you deal with often (but how much you do for the other would vary, based on the receiver's relation to you, like how St. therese treated the bullying superior) like that in all cases (or be awakened to that when separated thinking seeps in gradually due to misunderstandings), but you have to be flexible enough not to need Hollywood editing and longer cuts or scenes of dialogue than we usually get. If there is a 40 day marriage fixer upper manual, it probably would be good to get. Still, a valid marriage is indissoluable in God's eyes, even if they must physically separate when one becomes dangerous in an evildoing way. I wish non-Catholic Christians could see that fact as it's clearly stated by Christ, himself, in the Bible (tempered by conditions under which the marriage can be annulled, as authorized by the only leadership Christ authorized to interpret Scriptures, amongst a few other things, as long as the Earth exists. foolishmortal
Well, it's not Hollywood, but it at least has good ideas about strengthening a marriage when the spouse is perceived as being a pain. It doesn't have to be entertaining. The news isn't entertaining and usually, neither is EWTN--so what? . Kurt Cameron is pretty cool. I like the show he has with this one guy where they go evengalize. Edited February 24, 2009 by Guest

pan!c139
The acting was terrible of course, but the lessons learned in the movie outshine the movie's quality. I loved it.

The message is good, but the vehicle used to get us to that message was shoddy at best.
Brother Adam
Interesting. I figured it would be as bad as other low budget Christian movies. I will be reviewing for our parish in a while.

I'd rather watch a movie like that than a movie with the best actors in Hollywood that has sex, drugs, and other assorted immorality in the limelight anyday. Winchester
That whole fire would have gone better if they'd shown up ready to fight. The Lieu never went in. FIRED!
