homeschoolmom
Well... here's how it went... Mom was upset, thought we were "smarter" than that... thought she would never try to talk us into being Baptist, but thought that would be better than Catholic!!! Thought we were doing our children a big disservice... we won't find nearly the children's programs we have now, thought we should talk to our pastor, thought we were stronger in our faith... yadda, yadda, yadda.... :irate: :irate: Edited March 20, 2004 by homeschoolmom

Carson Weber
I hear that the Mormon children programs are wonderful.. maybe I should consider following the God who lives with his wife on the planet Kolob if I get better child care out of it for my future children? It makes you wonder where people's priorities are these days: (1) Convenience or (2) Truth.

Keep your head up homeschoolmom. I have yet to meet a catholic convert that can't whip the tail biblically off of most protestants. Or at least leave them going "umm...umm...umm". As long as you are going to the Catholic Church for the right reasons, for the glory of God, go. Everyone has their opinions and "knows" why Catholicism is just plain wrong. Just keep following God Edited March 20, 2004 by Brother Adam

marielapin
HSmom, my mom had a similar reaction. I don't know what is more painful, the fact that they will say "you should be anything but Catholic" or the fact that they will use such trivial things as children's programs as a reason to stay in a Church. The lack of understanding of her faith was very apparent when my Mom started to attack me. I just told her to give me the reasons why she was Methodist (cause I gave her a whole list of reasons why I was going to be Catholic), and the only thing she could come up with was that she had grown up there, and wouldn't want to change cause that would mean having to meet new people. I'm praying for you and your family. It is a hard thing to go through.
