Religious Order Focused On Confession?

Era Might

I think it would be cool for an order of Priests to be founded, whose primary work would be hearing confessions. They could sort of be itinerant confessors, and they could unite that work with preaching. Does such an order already exist?

Wow, they look like a great order, just the kind of order that I was thinking of. I noticed Fr. Wade Menezes is part of their order. I've seen him on EWTN.

the lords sheep

The order of St. Paul the First hermit (OSPPE)'s primary aspect of their charism is to hear confessions.
I can't find information online, but I know one of their brothers. They have a strong devotion to our Lady, and wear habits very similar to Dominicans.
If you want more information, let me know and I'll see if I can find you some.

As far as I know, they're were founded in Hungary, by Blessed Eusebius; here's their Hungarian website (unfortunately, only in Hungarian...): http://palosrend.hu/fooldal.htm

I know that they are now mostly polish, and they were founded at about the same time as the dominicans, because their habit was designed by St. Dominic himself. It is almost identical to the Dominican habit, with the exception of the belt, which is now a cloth belt instead of a leather belt (because a whole group of them were martyred when they were hung by their belts, so they changed their belts to something that would break if that ever happened again.)
They do have houses in the US in NYC and PA, among other places.
If you have any questions, let me know, and I can pass them on.

The Redemptorists were founded by St. Alphonsus Ligouri, the patron saint of confessors. They also have done a lot of itinerant parish mission work - that could probably be seen as their main charism.
