Colleen
Gene Kelly will always be to me the best dancer that Hollywood ever had. I enjoy him more than Fred Astaire.
me too! Have you ever seen Anchors Aweigh, with Gene Kelly and a VERY young Frank Sinatra? I love that one too. mom25angels
What happened to Paint Your Wagon? Clint Eastwood and Lee Marvin are not what you would call singing stars, but nobody could have pulled off Pardner and Ben nearly as well.
Love Paint Your Wagon Husband hates it! there's no accounting for taste
Thy Geekdom Come
1776 is also great. I really admired John Adams after seeing that, and I watch Boy Meets World just because William Daniels is the teacher.
I always wondered where I had seen Mr. Feney before, lol... I LOVE 1776...it's not terribly accurate, but it's good...

hopeful1
children of eden is also a beautiful show, although probably not a very well known one. it's basically about the first nine books of genesis (with a few liberties) and our relationship with God. the first act is about adam and eve, and the second act is about noah and the ark. The music is done by Stephen Schwartz, who was the same guy who did Godspell and the music for Prince of Egypt (the disney movie about moses). The soundtrack may be a little hard to find (unless you chech online) but i think i've seen the cd in barnes & noble. my high school did that show about 2 or 3 years ago and it's just simply AMAZING! go see it if you ever get a chance. oh yeah, Jesus christ superstar, and Kiss Me Kate rock too! brickchick
Mine's Les Mis... Only one person put Little Shop of Horrors?! That's such a great show too. I'm in it right now, we open this Friday... oooh jitterbugs. Our performance isn't going to be super great, but the music is so wonderful, and our Seymour and Audrey have amazing voices... so at least their songs will be good. peach_cube
Fiddler on the Roof will always remind me of my Grandfather...so it is always #1 for me. But my darkhorse candidate from my youth would be "Little Shop of Horrors" even though the plant gave me horrible nightmares.
