Daily Mass

Ok,

I work at 8am, and its a 1/2 hour away from my aptment.

The only daily mass that I can go to is at 7am, very close to my aptment.

The priest likes to give long homilies and I neeeeed to leave by 7:30...which often means leaving right after communion.

Is this wrong...sould I just skip daily Mass?

No, you have no reason to skip it if you can get there. You could mention to the priest why you have to leave early.

Then I applaud you for going anyway.

We even have a nun who has to leave daily mass early. Catholic Charities is a block away, and she has to open up in the morning, and doesn't want people standing out in the cold.

If the little old ladies are giving you looks, the next time you have a day off, invite them to coffee after mass. They may be giving you looks because they are disappointed that they can't button hole you after mass because they've got a granddaughter/son that only needs the right person to bring them back to the church. I heard that a lot in my 20's going to daily mass.

Explain to the priest what your problem is and I'm sure he would understand.
Your going to work so you can sustain a living,it's not like you need to go out and smoke every 15 minutes.

Uh, NO. You should be thankful you are able to go to daily mass like that. Don't stop.

Well, we're not supposed to be picking churches because of the priest (unless they are out of line with Rome obviously), you are correct in ascertaining that Jesus is there....so keep it up.
i get so many dirty looks....

...im only trying....
People like to judge. Sorry you have that extra cross to bear but I would just encourage you to keep going. Not going to mass because you are scared of what someone will think is ridiculous as it reduces the mass and our faith to a political statement, which we all know it should not be.

Keep going!

Keep going. Not to guilt trip, only being honest when I say that many people don't have the luxury of daily Mass. Don't let any human being make you give up getting to be with Him every day.

Domine ut Videam

It is a HUGE grace to be able to be a daily communicant. Take advantage of it now, because later in your life it may not be an option. :saint:
