dominicansoul
just make sure you sit over the wings...that's the safest place... especially when the plane breaks apart and the front and back dislodge... maybe you can just drift for a while and come to a soft landing.... I mean the flight is tough but the very worst is before. I did do that before, only a St. Gemma decade. back in the day

Last time I took some sleep stuff but wouldn't take it, if we crashed I wanted to be alert enough to push the women and children out of my way to get out. dominicansoul
hassan, i am afraid of flying...i'll admit it's not my favorite thing to do... ...but i DRINK...a.lot. on flights, because it's the ONLY thing that calms my nerves 30,000 feet up in the air!!! my strategy is that if I'm drunk, I won't be panicked or afraid if the plane would suddenly start dropping out of the sky... ...while the rest of the passengers would be screaming and crying and praying all the way down, i would probably be waving my hands in the air going 'WHEEEEEEEEEE!" all the way down until impact! I would think it was one wild ride... ...this is my strategy....
dominicansoul
..of course, when the plane lands safely, i'm a real mess, and once i've been asked not to use that airline again....
Era Might
I guess this was the first time that I was confronted with the fact that my fear of flying would be getting in the way of my career (whatever it is). I have forced myself to fly before but any elective flying, even if it's a great oppertunity, are immediatly excluded. Has anyone overcome a fear of flying, and if so how?
I think the question to ask yourself is whether your fear is really fear of flying, or fear of death. I suppose some people just have a fear of heights. But I think most people who are afraid of flying are afraid of crashing, which implies that they are afraid to die. For a Catholic, there is no reason to fear death. So, I suggest you become Catholic, and then your fears of flying can be overcome.
Jesus said to her, "I am the resurrection and the life; he who believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live, and whoever lives and believes in me shall never die. Do you believe this?" --John 11:25-26

There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear. For fear has to do with punishment, and he who fears is not perfected in love. --1John 4:18
