Starlightdreamer
Hello Everyone, I'm new here and I have a question. After googling to no avail I'm hoping someone here can tell me if there is a patron saint for those afflicted with liver diseases. Thanks for your time! CatherineM
Blessed Marie of the Incarnation Guyart, died of hepatitis. You could pray to her, and maybe end up being the miracle she needs for sainthood. St. Liborius of Le Mans is patron of gallstones, St. Urban of Langres or Martin of Tours for alcoholics, St. Charles Borromeo for abdominal pains, St.Odilo for jaundice, or if none of those fit the situation, there is always Our Lady of Lourdes for all types of bodily ills. Saint Therese
Yeah you can't go wrong with praying to the Blessed Mother. Also, St. Joseph.
Starlightdreamer
Thank you for your responses. My husband was two months premature in 1978, it was a miracle he lived. When he was born he needed an emergency blood transfusion and sadly, the blood supply wasn't screened for Hepatitis C until the 80s. So, my dear husband has had this disease since he was 7 months old. We're 30 now and when I started this thread it was just an idea that perhaps I should be praying for his liver instead of the other health issues he has. Well, this past Wednesday we got some bad news from his liver specialist. We will be saying a novena to Our Lady of Lourdes as soon as the booklet I requested arrives. I think I'll go post a prayer request in the prayer board. Thank you for your time.
In The Arms of The Lord
I will keep a prayer in my heart for you, your husband, and all your loved ones. May you all find peace, comfort, and healing. Offer everything into the Lord's loving hands. I pray also for the conversion of your husband's heart. God's will be done. When she got really sick, she prayed to Fr. Damien. Her doctor sent her to a clinical trial at the University of Florida as kind of her last chance, and when she got there, they did those special tests to look at the viral load number. Only those with 100,000 or above got the treatment. Hers showed only 100. Her doctor was stunned. That was 7 years ago. She now has 0 viral load. I'm certainly not in a position to know if her body just fought it off, which can happen, or if she had an intervention. I do know that prayer can change things, and will have a mass said for your husband.
Starlightdreamer
This will sound dumb but I'm in tears that someone cares for my husband and me. Thank you, thank you all so much for sharing the love of Jesus with us, thank you.
