Disposing Of A Bible

My partner was given a bible by his heretic older sister years ago. It's the standard stolen/vandalized (read: protestant) kind and I want to get rid of it but do not know how to it properly. So how do I do it?

While we're on that topic how do I dispose of sacramentals and pictures (i.e previous year's Saints Calendar) respectfully?

Thanks!

Nope. You have to keep it forever.

The calendar from church should be burned too. Just to be sure.

Yup, just be careful for the sake of not causing scandal that no one that doesn't realize why you are doing it sees or watches you. Fireplace in your home would be best if possible IMO.

I could be wrong, but I was always under the impression that one need only resort to burning or burying if the object was blessed (that is, was a sacramental). Otherwise, into the can it may go.

I cannot see throwing a Bible in the garbage as ever being appropriate. Burn it for Ash Wednesday.

No, passing it on isn't good either.
