Historic Moves Afoot For Traditional Anglicans

I was a bit skeptical when Pope Benny XVI decided to get SSPX back in as it seemed to not really be smart.

However, after thinking it through and seeing what welcoming back entails and what it does not, I cannot help but think that PBXVI has some big plans for the Church.

And the Church cannot really got to war :sword: unless she is more united....

The plans of the Pope seem to have much more behind them than I think everyone has realized so far.

I'm not (though I'm excited about any group of those not in full communion with Christ's Church returning!). I can't wait for the SSPX to come back! Because I <3 the Extraordinary Form and can't wait for their to be full time EF bishops to do EF ordinations and confirmations!

Anglican use is very close to EF. :)
Err, I thought there already was an Anglican rite just for this kind of thing?

In any case, WOOHOO! :woot:
It's not an actual rite. John Paul II created it and called it the "Pastoral Provision" which allowed for Anglican parishes to be welcomed into the Catholic Church and to continue using their Anglican liturgy for their mass. Their married priest are even ordained as Catholic priests as this is allowed by the Pastoral Provision. But, the Pastoral Provision only applies to the US (and maybe Canada) it does not apply to the UK or other parts of the world. A different arrangement is needed to welcome back the TAC.

Wow. What I hear in that video is we should perhaps already let them in. They desire full communion, while acknowledging that it is a struggle do to years of bad habits. Don't we all have bad habits.

What I find interesting is that while things like this are happening in the CC you don't hear anything about one lutheran denomination and another even come together, let alone a baptist and lutheran denomination.

That's because Protestants don't operate under the mindset that the Church needs to be one standalone, physical institution with a common head. But they do come together for other reasons, which is easier for them since they don't have to jump the hurdles that exist between Catholicism and Protestantism.

For example, on the previous page someone commented that he won't enter the TAC church near his house until it's in full communion with Rome. That kind of thing wouldn't even cross the mind of a Lutheran or Methodist, and they will gladly visit Catholic churches.
