sweens8403
I guess the only thing that matters now is how many lawyers you have. Laws are only temporary now it seems.

I mean is it not a bit late for their stance to come out? Should it have not come out before the election? If Google really wanted to stand up for gay rights, they would have thrown money against prop 8. Which makes me wonder what changed at Google between the election and now? Someone who advocated the gay cause get into a position to take a stand or was it some high officials who felt they needed to cool the heat they had been receiving from their gay employees who only recently made some noise. This is an odd time for Google's position to come out. Someone high up lose their morals overnight?
track2004
This isn't a sudden change in Google's politics. They released this a while back, late November or sometime in December. The support makes sense for them because they offer partner benefits for gay couples and having it legal would make it a lot easier for them to bestow those. I don't get why the forum freaks out about a search engine or a soup company supporting gay marriage. They don't really go all out and talk about their support everywhere. Frankly, if it hadn't read it on the forum, I would have never known about the somewhat tenuous connection between soup and gays.

They have lots of rights, they're not worried about living under a totalitarian police state. They want a better bottom line, and if this gets it for them, then that's what it'll take. Know what I mean?
dUSt
Google doesn't have employees. It's just a bunch of robots (since despite many efforts, I never was able to contact a real human at Google). So, this tells me that their reasoning is a lie, and they really are pro-gay marriage. Google is wack. Wish there was a comparable alternative.
