Saint Therese
Don't know which it is, but I have it on a very reliable source. Sorry!
CatherineM
Canon 1041 prohibits Ordination to one with a psychological illness. Canon 1051 requires they be fit physically and psychologically for the ministry before Ordination. These do not apply to entering an order, only to Ordination to the Diaconate and Priesthood. As to marrying, Canon 1057 puts it as a man and a woman. I think this would preclude a co-marriage, but I'm not sure it would exclude the marriage of one partner in a conjoined state. Canon 1066 states that the priest establish that nothing stands in the way of a valid and lawful celebration. I think that a priest might use this to question such a marriage, and buck it upstairs, so to speak, especially if the twins shared reproductive organs. MithLuin
The Hungarian conjoined twins I mentioned above entered the convent (early 1700's). I think that, if marriage were to be discussed in this case, it would be a matter of one of them marrying one man, with the obvious understanding that the sister would participate in the marriage. But...they aren't exactly engaged, and it's possible this won't be an issue. So, we'll see what their church decides if/when the time comes. icelandic_iceskater
I wonder how would work out as far as falling in love and everything goes. It would be hard to be the sister who isn't getting married.
MithLuin
Well, um, not really. They do share a body. They each control/feel one side of it. Interestingly enough, an episode of Bones recently dealt with conjoined female twins and whether or not a romantic relationship with one were possible. CatherineM
There is a set of female conjoined twins who are joined at the head that are on the TV every now and then. One is physically dominant, and the other rides around on a desk chair kind of thing her sister pushes. They are very different in personality, tastes, etc. I was just wondering if one of them got married, and the other just really hated her brother in law. That would really be difficult.
