Venus came back for the Austrailian Open last year, but she bowed out in the Quarterfinals.... they are really good though!
cathgirl
They are massive!!! I wish that I was as good/strong as them!! I was reading about them in Sports Illustrated and they talked a lot about how they are doing fashion and acting things. I felt so bad for them after their sister died how sad!! cathgirl
Yeah, I'd probably want to move on from tennis if i had been number 1 (or close to it) for like.....all of my life. I can't really blame them, but I did like watching them in awe and wishing I was that good! I think I am getting tennis elbow.
I'm more a volleyball fanatic myself. Actually I really, really wanted to play basketball, but in junior high decided to be a cheerleader instead. I didn't wanna start my freshman year b/c I would have been so behind!!!! Don't you hate it when you make silly decisions like that? I'm pretty tall too (for my school, the kids at my school are teeny!!! ) so the bball coach was upset when he found out . I've never tried soccer..... let_go_let_God
I play girls golf up here, I am in the #2 slot out of 11 right now, but I'm not that good. It's just a thing of seniority and last years preformance.
cathgirl
I cousin used to play golf a lot. I've tried it once or twice, and am not very good . Do you go to a big or little school??? My school is small and doesn't have it, but a golf course is being built, so we might be able to have one. I'll be praying that your season goes well!! ilovechrist
by the way Cathgirl, check this out--today's news! KEY BISCAYNE, Fla. - Ending an eight-month layoff, Serena Williams (news - web sites) easily won her opening match Friday at the Nasdaq-100 Open, beating qualifier Marta Marrero 6-1, 6-0. The match was the first for Williams since she earned her sixth Grand Slam title by beating older sister Venus at Wimbledon (news - web sites) last July. She had been out since undergoing knee surgery Aug. 1 but showed few signs of rust. Williams' first stroke was a service winner, and she won eight of the first nine points with little effort. She closed each set with an ace, displaying the same overpowering game that had her ranked No. 1 when sidelined. "I definitely was a little nervous," she said. "But once I stepped on the court, I was OK." The victory was the 13th in a row at Key Biscayne for Williams, a two-time defending champion. Marrero offered little resistance, winning just 23 of 74 points and double-faulting eight times.
