Saint Therese
My life is full of excitement. Today I yelled at my boss and made a totall ass of myself. Not only did I act like a moron, now people at work are going to think poorly of Catholics, nuns, and people who want to be nuns because of me. CatherineM
Your actions can be a symptom of PTSD. I would fly off the handle on minute, and start crying the next.
Saint Therese
I just looked up the symptoms to PTSD and the really frightening one that stood out was "sense of a limited future". That doesn't apply to me now but did in the past. That would explain a lot emotional issues I had in the past I suppose.
CatherineM
It can also be logarithmic. The specialist here said the reason I had such a bad case is because it was compounded by several other traumas in the past. I hit a tipping point. Saint Therese
Right after the accident I remember thinking the feelings of fear etc, felt just like a past traumatic event.
CatherineM
I can recommend the book that I used with the PTSD psychiatrist. It's called the PTSD Workbook by Mary Beth Williams. I worked through it with him, but it is designed to be done alone as well. I got it at Amazon. As an example, I am able to use the phone now. I don't like the phone, but I can answer it, and make calls that I need to. I hadn't been able to use the phone in over 15 years. The work has allowed me to go back to school, and reclaim lots of lost things. Obviously, waiting to work on it, makes it worse.
