Jake Huether
ok seriously, 'The Passion' is getting flak because one of the most famous actors ever is involved in a highly controversial topic,... As for 'Luther,' most people know him as a highly controversial figure, so the public may be interested in the film... no offense intended, but sometimes you guys gotta view things from a real world perspective, rather than the 'this only happened because everyone hates catholics' perspective. the world doesn't revolve around anti-catholocism. Okay, that really made no sense. So, the people DONT want to see the Passion because it's controvercial, BUT they WANT to see Luther becuase it's controvercial. That is a HUGE double standard if I ever saw one. And YES, the world does revolve around anti-Catholicism. Because as Jesus said, the world doesn't know him, and he even said that the world would hate His Church! The DEVIL is the ruler of this world, and the sole purpose of the devil is to get people OUT of Christs Church (out of unity).
Brother Adam
Actually.... Satan's goal is to create a counter-fit faith. God is perfect, and his will is perfect, but Satan thinks he can top that, and is trying his best to do that. Satans goal is to build a counter-fit "religion" or way of life that we will see as better than God's plan. And in that respect take us out of God's grace. Satan's ultimate goal isn't to make everyone protestants. Despite contraversy, protestants adore and love God, affirm many Catholic teachings on Jesus Christ and the nature of God, Christ's life on earth, his death, burial, and resurrection. And as all of you admit, many, maybe most, protestants are "saved" in the term meaning in God's grace and mercy, indirectly united to his family. Having people love and adore God doesn't do Satan much good. I would think Satans ultimate goal would be to make agnostics or athiests out of us. Which is interesting because atheism is about the most illogical stance on religion one can take.
Chrysologus
Satan has only one goal, but it takes many forms. Can we presume to know his greatest?

Chrysologus
Is there any scripture to support this non-Catholic theory that Satan's greatest work is creating a false religion which resembles Christianity (Catholicism)? Or is this just a baseless theory for the sake of explaining why the largest, oldest, and grandest Christian body is actually evil?
