CatherineM
I was in line at the grocery store in Chinatown yesterday, and the woman behind me slapped a chicken down on the belt that still had it's head and feet on. It was like something out of Christmas Story. It was smiling at me.
missionseeker
I always thought it was weird that if you are allergic to eggs, you can't get the flu jab. Hmm.
Pertussus (sp?) paralyzed me for a day cuz of it. 'Course... I was too little to know that I was allergic to eggs. It stinks cuz for years I *could* eat them. And I liked them. but I haven't had them in years now cuz the allergy came back. I can eat them IN things, just not eggs alone. My mom made this stuff for dinner and said "it's a lot of stuff and I only put three eggs in" so I ate it (plus it's been years since a reaction and so I kinda forgot how bad it is.) Not fun. It was the worse reaction I had. Ever. Never will I ever eat eggs like that. And Quiche was one of my favourites. CatherineM
I had a duck growing up that laid eggs 2 1/2 times as big as regular chicken eggs. My mom's cakes were so rich and fluffy when she used duck eggs. Don't try them scrambled though. Only my father, who used half a jar of salsa on his eggs, could stand them straight. My mom started peddling them to women who made wedding cakes like they were some kind of new drug. The duck ate gravy train dog food, so she was well fed, and laid at least one a day, and sometimes two, for over 10 years. They were hard to get away from her though. She'd roll them across the lawn to new hiding places. It was like an Easter egg hunt everyday, and sometimes she'd fight me for them. She hid some under the crawl space that we never found until the summer my folks had central air put in, and the HVAC guys running ducts broke them. I'm glad I was away at summer camp. The house was uninhabitable, and they had to go stay at my grandparents house for a few days. All my mom would say is "the stench, the stench." missionseeker
I love baking with duck eggs. (for some reason I can eat them baked in things like cake, just not by themselves...)

missionseeker
They served breakfast tonight at 10 in the cafeteria. The eggs were tempting. If I am throwing up guts, I can't go to finals, right? The pain that comes with it was uite the detterent, though. Proof that I am not a masochist. ugh.

tinytherese
I like deviled eggs, not just for the taste but also because of a special Gilmore Girls moment, where the two main characters throw them at this one guy's car. He sees it and tells his uncle about it and his uncle says, "Wow, someone went to all of this trouble of preparing these for this. They must really hate you." "Someone devil-egged my car!"
