Prom Thoughts

Ok in high school the "big thing" for everyone once in their lives is prom. One thing though, isn't it funny how something that's suppost to be so much fun is followed so closely by the devil. Look at the typical fashion for prom dresses, they are either extreamly low cut and slinky or two piece. The typical thought of a prom couple (at least in my area) is to rent a room at a motel and then do what ever they want. Also, I know at my prom last year, there were at least four different times people tried to spike the punch. Also there is a tradition called the garder dance.

Isn't it funny how something that is suppost to be so fun is filled with sin?

May God bless and keep you always--

Ya, your right. Like Halloween is actually all souls day. Isn't it funny how satan takes a Holy thing from The Church and makes it the oppisite!

At my College there is huge Culture change were modesty is becoming hip.
It is up to fight the culture of death on all fronts, even in Prom / Spring Formal!

prom is so overrated....

I didn't go to mine. I went to see Spiderman with my dad and my brother. :D I had a really good time. And you know what? From what I heard from my classmates, I had a much better time than most people!

I'm actually looking forward to Prom! I found a really cute, MODEST dress on the clearance rack around Christmas time- it was on sale for $33!! (originally $160!) Even if I don't get a date, I'm still gonna go and have fun with my friends!

And all my guy friends are totally chaste and will treat me with nothing less than the respect I deserve. GOD BLESS THEM!!! I'm so lucky to have such great Catholic guy friends!

actually at my school its not too bad, the prom has a dress code, and most the girls actually are covered up more than they are at school on a normal day. most people go w/ friends it keeps everything just fun. afterwards theres post prom, we all go to the gym and play games till we pass out, and the we go to our friends houses for breakfast. i'm sure there are people who do bad stuff at and after prom, but actually the people i worry about most are those who only come to post prom, they usually show up drunk and aren't worn out from prom so go out more after post prom.

Actually I'm looking foward to my prom, nothing but Christian homeschoolers and colleges going, and I have my fingers crossed that I get to dance with someone particular...

Seriously though, some creepy things go on at regular school proms. Don't see what the big deal about high cut dresses and such...I find modest girls to be the most attractive...

That's one thing I like about the guy that I'm going with. He and I arn't dating but we are the best of friends. Also I am going with some of my friends who won't pressure themselves or others into doing the "cool thing".

Until later,
May God bless and keep you guys always--

:D i can't WAIT for our homeschool Prom this year... for a couple reasons, but mainly for the reason this was started: the girls dress modestly. there's not even a dress code, and yet they all (well, there may be 2 or 3 exceptions.. but thats out of 80!) dress modestly, and i know that myself, along with the rest of the guys in our group, still find them just as attractive. one girl had told me she got her dress from a company called.. Beautifully Modest.. ya beautifullymodest.com is the site, for whatever girls that wanna check it out, it seems to be a real hit! -ben

I'm looking forward to the prom this year. It has it's problems and everything, but seeing all (most) of your classmates just dancing and having a good time and enjoying each other's company is awesome. The dressy atire changes how we all interact and for that one night everyone gets along ('sept for the 2 girls on opposite sides of the room with the same dress on). Anyway, I'm excited because my boyfriend is coming into town and we are having a live band for part of the prom and one of my close friends is goign to be playing in that band. And hopefully we (all my homies and I) can go and crash at someone's house like we did last year. Anyway I am looking forward to it because it brings a sense of community that is not usualy present in my class.

that site is AWESOME!! i've never gotten anything from there, but i never had the occasion to. my sister goes to Christendom College and some of the girls there get dresses from there for winter/spring formals.

Homecoming here is SO big! I went to it my 1st two years and I must say, I wasn't overly thrilled. I don't know if I am going to prom. I am single and not really looking (LOL, at least according to my MSN profile) so if I go I will go Charles A. Lindburgh style. But all my friends have dates and stuff so I would be a third arm to most of them. I am thinking about going but wearing a brown plain robe with a rope belt and a LARGE cross or crucifix around my neck, lol.

Plus I am not into that whole dating thing with superfical people.
