johnnydigit
If you glance through the interview, you will see that he answered the questions with remarkable calm and reason. When questioned about his emotional reaction after his first murder, one of the things he said was "To wake up in the morning and realize what I had done with a clear mind, with all my essential moral and ethical feelings intact, absolutely horrified me." But we are forgetting something: Ted Bundy suffered from antisocial personality disorder. Commonly called "sociopaths" or "psychopaths" these individuals are manipulative, pathological liars, lack empathy, have superficial charm (re: Bundy was a "charming" intelligent law student), they are impulsive, they exhibit promiscuous sexual behavior (re: Bundy's addiction to pornography), etc. Sociopaths will always, always pass a lie detector test. I would like to point out that Bundy's "feelings" in this interview are not real. I would also like to add that his addiction to pornography did not turn him into a serial killer; his addiction to pornography stemmed from his mental disorder. This was clearly not your "routine" pornography addiction, either - it was incredibly sadistic. So, in this interview, Ted Bundy said (I repeat): "To wake up in the morning and realize what I had done with a clear mind, with all my essential moral and ethical feelings intact, absolutely horrified me." But what has he also said? "I'm the most cold-blooded [censored] you'll ever meet," said Ted Bundy. "I just liked to kill, I wanted to kill." http://www.trutv.com/library/crime/serial_...ck/psych_6.html Source: My research paper and presentation for my Personality Concepts class last semester. I will throw out this link: http://www.mcafee.cc/Bin/sb.html
what's even scarier is that this is passing for normal behavior, that is, the mentality of most young men in the popular culture - e.g. the "frat boy", the cool "club hopper" and popular "party guy" whom the girls adore (these same girls may think it's "gross", but pass it off as a "guy thing".). so what happens is young boys see that it's fine to have loads of porn on your hard drive, to watch porn with friends, to degrade women, lie, lie, and lie again to cover yourself, all while still having a clear conscience about it. i think this example needs to be used more often to get the point across - "guys: murderers and rapists, are usually addicted to porn.." if they are clueless about chastity and morals, i think this point throws up a red flag that maybe they should think twice. i heard somewhere that the terrorists on 9/11 were encouraged to watch brutally hardcore porn for hours a day. whether true or not, i can see how this aides in warping the mind..
