Socrates
Calm down, folks. Relax. You can rest assured that article is 100% BS. Nolan has not even yet committed to making a third movie, much less cast any actors. The Sun is a silly tabloid, and hardly a reliable serious news source. This is another dumb, unsubstantiated rumor, like the Johnny Depp Riddler, Philip Seymour Hoffman Penguin, and Cher Catwoman rumors before it. Christopher Nolan has also in the past made statements to the effect that he would sooner die than make a Batman movie including Robin. I think certain, ahem, jokers get their kicks spreading this sort of croutons just to watch the fanboys go hysterical. Here's the actual latest official word on Nolan and Batman:
Chris Nolan, December 2008 Nolan says he is jotting notes and doing some rough outlines for a third story, but he hasn't yet found anything he's willing to commit to film, despite Warner Bros.' eagerness to get a new film underway. "It was obvious when the box office was so big ($530 million domestically) that we had underestimated how ready fans were to reboot the franchise. The worst thing you could do now that you've gotten the plane back in the air is mess up the landing." dUSt
Speaking of Philip Seymour Hoffman, forget this, lets talk about something way more exciting. So who's been following the rumors of him playing Ignatius in the new "Confederacy of Dunces" movie!?!?!? Huh, huh... can I get some love!?!? sarcasmguy126
oh, come on guys! don't tell me y'all believe this BS!!! This article is obviously a phony...i mean, Robin in a Chris Nolan Batman movie?? He himself said that Robin makes it campy and not dark, and he likes it dark. Eddie Murphy as the Riddler? Come ON! That's stupid! CATWOMAN? Hahaha! Very funny! The next Batman movie will be like the other two in this series: dark, relentlessly serious, and disturbing. There's no room for Murphy or LeBeauf in it. KnightofChrist
They could have nightwing... but I don't know how they work that into the story. As for a black riddler I think that could work very well.

And personally, I doubt either Robin/Nightwing or the Riddler will be in the movie at all. And the problem isn't so much the Riddler being black as being Eddie Murphy - he's just wrong for the part. But again, that's not gonna happen, so there's nothing to worry about. Edited December 23, 2008 by Socrates

The Sun is the only reliable and trustworthy newspaper, its the only place to get the REAL News. But for real I just thought 'they' could work in Nightwing in some future movie, without having the cutey pie, short short wearing 60's throwback Robin. As for Mr. Murphy I think perhaps he could, perhaps play a good and dark creepy Riddler, but all I'd see no matter how good he was at the role would be the Nutty Professor, waiting for him to fluffy air extraction. Anyway the Sun wouldn't make up a story like that they just wouldn't, yous got to be crazy. Edited December 23, 2008 by KnightofChrist
