Laudem Gloriae
Bumping this thread on a beautiful Carmelite who died so young but so holy. Here is a video of her Carmel, Valladollid in Spain, with her in it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z6dh_7tQ8tM&NR=1 Valladolid Carmel's website with picture of Sr. Magdalena - http://www.carmelitasvalladolid.es/pageID_5615845.html and on this page of the site - http://www.carmelitasvalladolid.es/pageID_5625757.html - is a gallery of pictures of her as a postulant and then a novice. In this video on this Carmel, you will see her in many of the pictures.

Totally Franciscan
I am so moved by this beautiful story. How utterly stunning she looked in her habit as a novice, full of joy and grace! I have been thinking about this story and, having been in two communities, I am wondering if there is a difference between European and American communities as far as keeping a sick postulant, rather than sending her home. I am quite sure my two communities would send a postulant home rather than keep her through illness. I certainly applaud Sr. Magdalena's community for keeping her and allowing her to first be invested in the habit and then profession when she was close to death. The story speaks for itself as to the validity of this decision by her community. I was wondering what others on this phorum have to say about American communities doing the same.
