Ummm...I don't think the Liturgy of the Hours would be considered a devotion as it is actually Liturgical prayer, and was formulated from the early liturgies.

Its a devotion for those not bound to say it. After all it is mostly psalms and scripture reading.

Birgitta Noel

All right Mom 2 5 Angels! It's now confirmed! You must live in Peoria like Katrina (immaculata) thought! I go to St. Mark's too sometimes (mainly when the Brothers say mass there). In fact I was there at 11am mass this Sunday!

Hmmmm, perhaps we already know one another! I'd love to say hi in person sometime!

In Mary, Birgitta
it's awesome cuz they all tie together in one way or another...
(divine mercy is "repeated" in the same maner as the rosary. the rosary has the sorrowful mysteries which relate to the stations) :D

Yep! And then, the Chaplet says "For the sake of His sorrowful Passion," so then that describes the Stations, so, yeah. :D

JMJ
4/4 - Palm Sunday

The Church doesn't require all Catholics to say the LOTH, but she "earnestly recommends" them to do so.

The LOTH, as well as the Holy Hour (in my opinion), isn't a devotional - it's a participation in the work of Redemption. By these we're brought so incredibly close to Christ that the Mass itself is the only thing that supercedes them. We become more like the Master.

But that being said, I'm diggin' the Rosary. :)

Blessed Sacrament! (Sacred Heart)

I dunno if that counts, but I love Liturgy of the Hours otherwise!

I was thinking of LOTH as a devotional since it isn't a requirement like the Mass and I am not in formal vows.
