I'm not sure what the bump was for, but for material to inspire writing, I like Seventh Sanctum best.

I'm doing a Catechist morning of Reflection next Saturday....I've got three half hour talks to give. The Holy Spirit isn't inspiring me too much. So you could say I have a block.

The theme is "Joyful in the Word" and my three talks are:

"What happened to Joy?"

"The Parable of the Talents"

and

"Joyful in the Word."

I shouldn't necessarily say I have a block....I've got tons of ideas just no idea in how to get them to come out in an organized fashion.

I've thinking and praying about this for two weeks now. He's still not jumping in. One of my friends said maybe He's waiting to do His stuff next Saturday and I'm not to prepare too much  I trust the Holy Spirit but.........what if a BIG emergency comes up and He's busy with someone else at that time???????

You must be dealing with the same Holy Spirit that keeps making Theo wait until the last minute for his homilies. :P:

I don't know what works for you. I'd try a quiet place (away from phatmass!) with a pad of paper and some tea or coffee.

Been there done that! Even went to Adoration with my papers. Jotted down a few ideas.

I'm thinking I'll get the inspiration at a totally inappropriate time and just start writing. Which I hope comes soon!!! :D:

I find, if I have a character, drawing a picture of my character helps me think through their motivations, experiences etc. (I'm not an exceptional artist, I just find moving a pencil gets my mind going)
Also, there "character sketch" questionaires online, so that you can work with fully "fleshed" characters. (Not on my home computer, try google)

I hear you about the inapproriate time. It's just the way it is for writing.
