CatherineM
The women in my family have hips and thighs that you could use for landing aircraft. Made having lots of kids easier. I was researching a female ancestor who fought during the Revolutionary War. She hid soldiers, etc. She had 15 kids that all survived to adulthood, and still lived to be 93 years old. My mom always says that the women in our family are hard to kill, and there wasn't a bathing beauty in the bunch.

missionseeker
Lol, CatherineM. My great grandmother had 22 kids that survived to adulthood. I can walk around Birmingham, AL and know that people are related to me because they LOOK like me. It is the strangest thing. The weirder thing is that they know, too. My mother and father were once stopped and asked "Is that child an _____?" and when they said yes he said "I would have known her anywhere, she looks it!" CatherineM
My great-grandmother had 12. My grandfather was the last. She was 48 when he was born. My great-grandfather fell out of the barn loft after #6, and never was in a picture standing up again. We used to joke that maybe she pushed him, but didn't push him from a high enough spot. Even when he was in his 80's, and in a nursing home, she had to "visit" him at least once a week, or the nursing staff couldn't control him. My mom has outlived 3 husbands. She only has one kidney, one lung, one breast, but just turned 86, and is as scary as ever. She wasn't supposed to be able to have any kids. She enjoyed gloating over every pregnancy with the doctor who told her that.

I get that "who the heck are you?" look on my face and slowly say "Yyyesssss." And they say something like, "Oh, I was in 7th grade with her/went to high school with her/worked with her 30 years ago" as though I should know who they are... "Tell her I said hi!" And I say "Sure will...." and think "who the heck did you say you are again?" Get back to Mom's house "Some random person I don't know said to tell you hi." IcePrincessKRS
It's the hair.
My mother's hair is stick straight and blond. It's the face, all my siblings have a similar face. When I went to the hospital to have Charlotte I used the hospital that all of my sibs were born at. We called to let them know we were on our way, but when I got there the nurse's face lit up and she said "I didn't know it was YOU when I saw the name! Gosh, you look just like your mother!" (I don't think I do, but apparently it's similar enough.) She didn't know which one of us I was other than my name being on the chart, but I hadn't been in that maternity ward for like 10 years so it wasn't as though she actually recognized me for ME. She recognized me as one of my mother's kids.
Those moments are always so awkward. The Saducess? The Pharisees? or any other person who wouldn't admit they were living wrong and wanted to change?
Yeah He was stern with them but Jesus did not insult them. So you would like to use Jesus's frustration as an excuse to insult people? I wonder what'd He'd say. "Well done good and faithful servant"?
