dauntingknight
I run across a couple of people every now and then who think that hunters should go to hell because they kill animals and animals are just like human beings so I am taking a poll to see what you guys think about it. I think that we can hunt them when we do it in moderation and we take every possible piece of meat that we possibly take to eat and share with other people. Jesus_lol
i voted for food and sport, and in moderation. its okay to have fun hunting, after all it is kind of instinct, challenge and all, but you should have the responsibility to not let the animal go to waste after you kill it. so if you are gonna shoot deer, why the heck not eat venison? Ash Wednesday
I don't have a problem with hunting so long as the animals aren't endangered, killed humanely and there's some kind of usage out of it, i.e. food and skins. I also don't have a problem with shooting known pests like (where I come from) starlings or other animals that are overpopulating an area.
Tinkerlina
[quote name='dauntingknight' post='1712643' date='Nov 28 2008, 03:13 AM']I run across a couple of people every now and then who think that hunters should go to hell because they kill animals and animals are just like human beings so I am taking a poll to see what you guys think about it. However, I voted "moderation" because I think there are some circumstances, potential or hypothetical, where hunting is permissible if it is done soley for food, every part of the animal is used and the animal is killed in a very humane way. And actually, though I don't support any animals being killed, hunting is probably much more humane than factory farming. -Katie
CatherineM
As long as the animal is killed humanely, and the meat and hide is used, I see no immorality. Even people who kill for the sport of it are okay as long as they make sure the animal is used. There are charities in Oklahoma that get deer meat every hunting season. I do wonder about people who spend huge sums of money to go all over the world to hunt rare or endangered species. I know that it provides some funds for local people, but at a pretty high cost. How would we like it if people from Malaysia came over to hunt bald eagle?
icelandic_iceskater
food, sport, food & hide, and when done in moderation. Personally I can't bring myself to slap a mosquito thats biting my arm, let alone actually shoot something. But I don't have a prob with others doing it, so long as its legal & in moderation. P.S.
