we usually have a turkey and a ham, sometimes roast beef or wings. Mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, gravy, a couple different kinds of rolls... this year I think were having pumpkin pie, apple pie, rhubarb pie, peanut butter pie, that I know of. and other desserts. Green beans, deviled eggs, fruit... :drool:

Exactly!!!! :lol_roll: :lol_roll: Dry or not, it's just not the same. But I tell you, it is really good.
I have no problem doing that. The fried bird tastes much better than the one out of the oven. My parents had a fight last year over which way we would do it. So my step-father made one in the fryer, and my mother made one in the oven. They also made 2 different kinds of stuffing. (I SECRETLY LIKE MY STEPFATHERS STUFFING AND BIRD BETTER THAN MY MOM'S BUT SHHH! DON'T TELL HER)
:topsy:
I have scrawny arms. Just look at my avatar. It's enough to wrestle a turkey out of the roaster. PLUS, with a baked turkey you get turkey dripping gravy. No fake gravy for me. :P Also, brining a bird for a day or so prior to baking it is amazing.

I have to have my family's stuffing recipe. All others are major disappointments. One year I had Thanksgiving at my older sister's house and she put sausage in it (MAJOR deviation from the original) because her husband likes it... I hid my disappointment. lol I mean, we make sacrifices when we eat at other people's houses, and once you're sharing the stove with a spouse you have to cave on some traditions... but luckily my husband is only finicky about the turkey... he doesn't want it, he wants ham. lol I am more than happy to oblige him as long as I get everything else my way. :))

29
God also said: "See, I give you every seed-bearing plant all over the earth and every tree that has seed-bearing fruit on it to be your food;
30
and to all the animals of the land, all the birds of the air, and all the living creatures that crawl on the ground, I give all the green plants for food." And so it happened.

- Genesis 1: 29-30

Humans began to eat meat after the flood:

1 God blessed Noah and his sons and said to them: "Be fertile and multiply and fill the earth.
2
Dread fear of you shall come upon all the animals of the earth and all the birds of the air, upon all the creatures that move about on the ground and all the fishes of the sea; into your power they are delivered.
3
Every creature that is alive shall be yours to eat; I give them all to you as I did the green plants.

- Genesis 9: 1-3
