A $680 bill would leave us homeless. I only worry about it being cold at night because Joseph has a tendancy to throw off blankets and layers. We did electric heaters one year and they didn't really save us anything and I would worry about fires and kids burning themselves. *sigh*. We don't qualify for assistance by $100 even though we can't even afford insurance lol. At least daddy got to buy new power tools to help insulate the house![/quote]

our company offers balanced billing - it's about the same rate all year round.

I think it's not easy to answer that kind of questions for someone who can't see your house from the outside and inside... There must be some experts around in your area, people who examine the situation carefully and can tell you how to insulate. In fact, there are many different ways to do it, and the results can be very different also...

Stuff pillows in the windows. I also beg for firewood when people are cutting down trees. I chop and split myself. Out Heating Bill (in the Midwest) is usually under 110.

Caillen also throws off her blankets at night. When it got to a point that she would be as cold as ice, my parents would let her sleep in their bed. She was nice and toasty and had no choice with blankets :)

Well, when I converse with heat, it's always talking about the biggest threat to the planet today: global cooling. It's constantly reminding me to drive my Hummer, turn up my thermostat, and no matter what else, KEEP THE FRIDGE CLOSED.
