the bad part about coming from a large family (on my side) is that a lot of the good Biblical names are already taken :(
If you name him Eziekiel- Zeke's a great nickname

Elijah, James...
like Elijah. my hubby does not like the name James, but Ezekiel might be a good middle name.
What feast days are around the time of the due date?
due date is april 18, easter is april 12. divine mercy sunday is april 19.
Girls:
Madaleine Sophie

John-Paul Peter
we can't use sophia because one of his nieces is named sophia (the other is named grace). and i really don't like the idea of having a hyphenated first name - i just think it's dumb. :idontknow:

i have a couple of ideas but again, the hard part is convincing the hubby :hehe:

I would go for something easy to read, spell, and pronounce, but is still not too common. Something like Jane or Claire. That could be paired with a more complicated middle name (or a long first name and a short middle name) if they wanted to go by their other name at some point. John Theodore, Patricia Grace, Linus Matthew

Let's see... if I read correctly, the terms were: classical names with a unique middle name

Emma Rose
Isabella Jane
Molly Therese
Miriam Annette (Annette is my middle name, so I'm partial)
Bernadette Frances
Veronica Madeleine

Lucas Anthony
Matthew Lawrence
Isaiah Francis
Joshua Peter
Theodore Joseph

And this is pretty good advice:

Does it sound good?
Say the baby name over and over, if it sounds good add it to your list. This is the name that you will be screaming 50 times a day, 365 days a year for 60 years.

Positive associations
Make sure the baby name brings positive associations to both parents. Avoid old love interests, relatives you don't like and bad characters from your favorite sitcoms.

Will it grow with your child
Your baby name should sound just as good for an adult at the age of 43 as it does for a baby at the age of 3.

Flows well with your last name
The first and last name together should have a good tempo. Will your child run out of breath reciting their full name?

edit: I thought of one more :)

this is really what we've been struggling with. :ohno: every time i suggest a name, my hubby knows someone by that name that he doesn't like (James is one example).

I understand that. Bart really wanted to use the name 'Raymond', but I couldn't get over seeing Ray Romano if we did that. And he shot down 'Ezra' because he doesn't really like Ezra Pound.

I absolutely understand that. We have two Elijah John's, one on each side of the family (one has Thomas tacked on in there, too). We've got Mary, Marygrace, and Maria. Three Sara/h's. A couple of Joes, several John/Jon/John Pauls... not to mention friends who's names we've ruled out. I hate having repeat names, so while they might get mirrored from one side or the other I won't be the one making it so there are two of the same on one side of the family.

We opted to name this baby Vivienne Helen (ironically two of my college roomies were named Vivian and Helen, but it's not because of them that we chose this way, Helen was also my grandmother's name, and Vivienne was the only name we agreed on that was in the Frenchish theme our kids have been named by so far), or Damien Blaise.

I laughed out loud at this... not because it's bad advice but because my kids names are almost polar opposite.

Adrienne Anna
Genevieve Dymphna
Charlotte Kathleen

and don't even get me started on our last name. 11 letter long and German...

I was totally thinking the same thing. Definitely have to use Perfecto at the very least. :hehe:

I do that to Matt. "That's, like, a snob name"; "I knew a girl in kindergarten who was named that and she was mean to me" (I shot down his suggestion of Alexis for that very reason, I'm not lying); "I hate that name because I knew this guy/girl named that and s/he was a jerk"....

Hsdad's dad is from a large family of primarily boys. His brothers (and he) are named:

Charles
Lawrence
Robert
William
Stephen
Arthur and
James

So those names were off limits because with the exception of Arthur, all of them have sons with those names also.... As it turns out hsSons #1 and #2 have the same names as second cousins anyway... (different middle names, though)
