Apotheoun
I still say: long live democracy. Isn't the rigvht to vote a representative into the presidency what everyone wants?
It depends upon what you mean by that. I do not want the direct election of the President of the United States by national popular vote, and would prefer to keep the Electoral College. I would also like to repeal the 17th Amendment and restore the original system for choosing U.S. Senators.

I believe there are millions of un-informed, but educated, people in America. They helped elect Barack Obama.
Definitely concur with your first two sentences, and most probably concur with the last.

foolishmortal
If the bishops had fixed the Catholic schools, maybe they wouldn't have to worry about closing Catholic hospitals. I hope Obama fails and falls flat on his face (figuratively), unless there's a disaster. There's a verse in the Bible imploring the Lord to confuse their enemy. That's not uncharitable. Thus, hoping Obama's mind is clouded, except if the Lord enlightens him, should not be charity. I don't care he was black. Tears aren't coming from my eyes regarding this momentous occasion except for the lives of the most defenseless being lost more frequently in under 2 months. They should be ashamed of him being the first black president as I am of liberal Catholics being in such high positions. I'd rather have the Club of Rome members in the places where liberal Catholics are in charge than those liberal Catholics. I think we need to pray for Obama's soul, but not his success. We should pray he is ineligible and that he can be prevented from taking office. We should be prepared to accept any future inconveniences standing up for our Faith so more grace can come from this tragedy.
