I have been lying to myself to other people, i have been not motivated i just want to get back with god and be like i was when i first joined this site. Thank you guys for taking the time to read this i want to find the lord again i want to be a good man again i want my life back... CatherineM
Baby steps. It takes 6 weeks to 6 months to add a new good habit or lose a bad one. If you try all at once to say, start going to daily mass and saying the rosary, etc., it might be too much. Just get used to being in the Lord's presence again. Go to confession, and take all the advice the priest can give you. Allow us to pray for you.
SRMartin15
Thank you Catherine i really appreciate your response. I'm going to go to church tomorrow just to kinda be alone in the church and talk with the big man. Just a little one on one let him know I'm trying to come back not like he doesn't know already. I'm going to start going to Sunday Mass again and maybe ill be in the mood to go to adoration soon i always loved adoration.

littleflower+JMJ
I remember you! I'm so glad to see you back and that you found us again. I'm so happy to hear you wanting to come back into the Church again and I will pray that you have everything you need to make that happen. You have my prayers Sean and let us know how we can help you. I highly recommend adoration in front of Our Lord because of all the graces we receive in His Presence. Your post made me really happy inside because your great desire to experience and have God in your life again is awesome, inspiring and very hard to do! Take the first step, however big or small it is and I know God will not refuse someone who is willing to make things right again. Prayers from the phamily who will always have the front porch light on!
CatherineM
Thanks guys i'm really glad you took the time to post it really does help me out at a time like this i'm really getting more excited about this knowing i'm not alone. A lot of times up here where i live its not a very religious area and crime is pretty bad around here. I just feel like at my age its not something you see often. So again i say thank you
I live in one of those neighborhoods too. I walk past drug dealers and prostitutes on my way to church. Some of my friends are afraid to even come visit us. It's hard to be around darkness and brokenness all the time. We've even had two prostitutes who stood across the corner from our church killed by a serial killer. I carry bananas to give the women, and tell them to stay warm, and stay safe. One day, I hope that one of them will ask me to take them to church with me. The neighborhood doesn't scare me. The hopelessness of my neighbors does. All you can do is be a quiet example. You have to be strong mentally and spiritually to keep that hopelessness from catching you. Be so bright that the darkness can't touch you.
cmotherofpirl
Welcome back, your phamily is still here . God has been calling your name and welcomes you with open arms, and so do we. Remember its not all about our feelings, and more about what we do. So go to Mass and adoration and tell God all about it. Get thee to Confession and start Advent with us. And when you fall, remember we all fall, and get up and start again. Let heaven rejoice and earth be glad and all Creation sing.

kujo
Dude, love God from the moment you wake until the moment you fall asleep. Love Him and look for any opportunity to show that you love Him. You won't go wrong with that mentality.
kujo
Also, follow St. Padre Pio's edict: "Pray. Hope. And don't worry." Edited November 18, 2008 by kujo
