BLAZEr
Judge not lest ye be judged! Seriously, you all haven't even seen the movie and already you are lamenting how 'irreverent' it is. Well, as someone who attended a class about this movie, let me give my opinion. I haven't seen all of it, but I've seen enough to really really like it. Is it irreverent? Yes, actually it kinda is. Just like it's irreverent to imagine that God would choose to touch down on earth in a stable with Donkey's and Camels and their food and their mushy mud pie and their smelly bodies. Yet, that irreverent moment was actually a moment of Grace. What "Saved" is all about is FALSE Christianity. Mandi Moore is actually a sincere, honest, good young woman who has to put up with the judgemental Christians in her highschool who claim Christ and are "Saved" but who are so un-Christ like that a girl who is pregnant with a baby is shunned because of her "evil." There is more, but I think you all should actually see it and make a judgement. It's one thing to wear the "WWJD" stuff and have Christ close to your heart. It's quite another thing to do it just because it's the "Cool" thing to do. This movie comes down heavy against the second group.
MrsFrozen
I thought Mandy Moore played the unChristian person? It seemed to be pointing a finger at those hypocritical "Christians." I'm interested to see what my husband says about this since he went to a high school like that. God bless.
Colleen
I don't know what to think. It looks interesting. I guess I'll just have to wait and see. I hope the guy on DecentFilms.com does a review.
yeah your right, it could very well be a good movie i guess i got into my "hollywood makes dumb movies" mode again -_- i guess i can ask dUSt when he sees it since Macauley Culkin is starring in it anyways, if this movie does bring out any good at all, then im all for it. It's my understanding that the actor who played Judas in The Passion is quite devout and wept openly during the filming of the movie. Is he suddenly a bad Christian because he played Judas???? VeraMaria
no no no no, thats not what i meant what i meant is that some friends saw the trailer, and got into this whole discussion in which it was clear they thought ALL christians are hypocrites, and that it's always the christians vs. the non-christian victim or something. the whole "by example" thing isnt working for me...or maybe they're just not looking.... Iacobus
The high school I go to has a ton of "Christians" in it. They preach to all and talk the talk but VERY FEW will truly walk the walk. Sorry about the clique. But it is true. I am talking about the people who say they are dating Jesus for the year than engage in a "lovly" make out session at the dances. The ones who don't volentur to help out at the soup kitchens or food drives but tell others all about how they love God and have a Bible in their locker. They never talk about the message Jesus left us with to love and help one and other but "quote" Rev. 21:8 every few minutes. Totaly sola fide people. Maybe they will see themselves in this movie and change thier ways.

I worked in Holly Wood in the movie industry and I know movies like this are not made to bring people to God. Look at the company that made it. That will say it all. If it was made for the reason of saving souls it would be building up arguments like the Passion did. Right now Holly Wood is trying to discredit the name of Jesus in any means possible. Whether it be putting hidden messages in our children’s movies or be making a movie that looks Christian. To look at a movie and to say that it is wrong is not against the Bible, in fact looking at a human being and saying that they are wrong is not against the Bible. It's when we decide to judge that person and say well their going to hell because they did that or stuff like that or hate them for what they do. I just wanted to through that out on the table. Also Phatmass needs a cool teen movie and I have just the idea.

Those are in fact, people. You can certainly make a judgement about these people, but it would help if it were actually an informed opinion. And quite frankly, I don't think all movies have to be made "to bring people closer to Christ" in order to be good. I think Barbara Nicolosi would agree with that sentiment. During your time in Hollywood, did you ever become familiar with the Act One Institute? More so, sometimes studios and filmmakers who are anti-catholic do produce beautiful pieces of art that speak to the truths that God has written upon the human heart. They don't have to be all "Yeah Jesus!" in order to be valuable. I think two examples of movies with profound themes, that were associated with distributors and studios that are known for the anti-catholic histories are: Moulin Rouge and Life is Beautiful
Live4Him
What work of art came from that movie? Ephesians 5:20 commands us to give thanks in all things. Now I am not saying all movies have bring people to Christ but if things that Christ warns us against are in them then I would think again.
