DojoGrant
I just caught this trailer of a new movie called Saved...which seems extremely irreverent towards Christ and Christians in general. Nothing new in Hollywood. Except that it stars Mandy Moore has been quite the posterchild for Christianity in Hollywood lately and is listed as a Catholic on this website. http://www.apple.com/trailers/mgm/saved/medium.html If you have the time, watch the trailer, and let me know your thoughts. I'm not pleased.
littleflower+JMJ
horrific movie.
DojoGrant
Did you watch the preview? The denegration of the name of Jesus seems very prevalent, even by Moore herself. Granted, its a preview and not the whole movie, so it could be misconstrued...but that'd be some of the worst I've ever seen.
God Conquers
Ya, that looks like it's garbage. I was dissappointed with Moore's last movie too. My sis is a huge fan of her's.
littleflower+JMJ
yes i agree, i do not like how they are just throwing Jesus' name around and giving a very bad image of being "christian" i do not like it. at all :shame: im also disappointed in mandy moore. -_-
Thy Geekdom Come
It seemed to me that it was making fun of the stereotypical fundamentalist...but if you attack one Christian, you attack us all! I thought that Mandy Moore was very good in "A Walk to Remember", though...
DojoGrant
I definitely agree that it is attacking fundamentalism, and moreso, the type that will do anything to draw young people in on that emotional high. However, non-Christians will not know this, and even some Catholics. If it is meant to shake our faith, its doing so in the wrong direction. thicke
I'd like to point that we complained about people putting down The Passion of The Christ before they had actually seen it. Now, I am not defending the movie in any way. I am just saying we should practice what we preach.
the_rev
I guess Thicke has a point...
oh of course i haven't seen it, i was talking about the storyline. a girl gets cast out and ridiculed by the good girls at a christian school when they find out she is pregnant. :shame: theres alot of movies that i already know are bad without having to watchign them first, but im just being skeptical of this one thats all but maybe im wrong? i dont know, just going by what the movie is based on i guess i just dont trust what kind of movies hollywood makes  the movie is coming out this spring, so i'll then be able read reviews and stuff on it. personally, on seeing the movie, i dont think i am. IcePrincessKRS
Macauley Culkin? I am SO there.
I laughed when I saw that. Then I almost felt bad when I saw he played a kid in a wheelchair. But then I didn't feel bad because all I could picture him doing was slapping his hands to his face and screaming.
