To be honest I've had a hard time reconciling the concept of natural disasters being some kind of chastisement from God. I suppose it's possible, but I would think there have been some God fearing people and churches affected by natural disasters -- and yet in the Old Testament it spoke of God being willing to spare Sodom & Gomorrah for the sake of just a few innocent people.

I suppose if some hurricanes were the result of mankind influencing our climate, it would correlate with our own actions bringing misery upon ourselves.
