VeniteAdoremus
Yay, another excuse to plug "my" community http://www.dominicansrs.co.uk/ Apostolic sisters who pray the Office of Readings, Morning Prayer, Angelus, Midday Prayer, Rosary, Evening Prayer and Compline in common, with half an hour of meditation and half an hour of Adoration every day for good measure. All Dominicans are active/contemplative in spirit, with the nuns weaving their preaching through living their monastic lives and praying for the other branches, and the apostolic sisters and friars by "sharing the fruits of their contemplation"... which implies there was some contemplation beforehand The amount to which this is done in community differs from house to house, though. HolyHearts
Also, the Franciscan Sisters Minor (Capuchins) in Massachusetts, They have +/- 7-8 hours of prayer a day, but also have some hours of active mission. (Google them under that name). Then, there are the Sisters of the Society of Our Mother of Peace, in Missouri & in a couple of other countries. They live in hermitages & have many hours of prayer; but almost everyday, they do one-on-one contact w/non-Catholics while visiting door-to-door (+/-) 3 hours mission. Domine ut Videam
The apostolic sisters of the Community of St. John have a very large contemplative focus in addition to an active apostolate. Thank you so much for posting, I'm going to read up on them. I love all the photos on their site and their apostolate, just beautiful. This is the first I've heard of the order. I have seen Fr. Antoine on EWTN working with the children. Thank you again.
