Saint Therese
No. Your reaction should be, "Gee, this man, who is for abortion, who wants to bankrupt the coal industry, among a list of other things, is going to be the next president. Let's pray for him." Goodness knows he's going to need our prayers. He wouldn't be in office if there wasn't a reason for him to be there...God is not gone. God did not forget us. He's there for a reason. Pray.
You're saying that its God's will that such a radical pro-death poliitican is elected? That explains evrything. Selah
Can something happen outside of God's will? Who appoints leaders? Would he have any power at all, if God had not allowed it to happen? We don't know the ways of God. What we do know is that all things work together for good to them that love God.
Saint Therese
We don't know God's mind, that's true, but we do know that according to God, abortion is murder, and a sin that cries to Heaven for vengeance.
Selah
I never advocated abortion. it's murder, plain and simple. My point is, despite this, everything will be okay, because God is still God. Obama getting elected doesn't change that. Saint Therese
It depends on your definition of okay. Jesus still reigns, and this is my hope, but I don't think it won't be okay for the Catholics in this country or for the unborn children.

Saint Therese
All the same, I think the real blame lies with us Catholics, and no where else. Sadly. I would never criticize Dear Leader in any way. We love you, Dear Leader. My, yes. Edited November 6, 2008 by Saint Therese

Saint Therese
Actually all Catholics. I think the beginning of our culpability began with the American Church's dissent from Humae Vitae, especially by the American hierarchy. It went unchecked for years. It had to have consequences, and legal abortin was one of them. Another would be the sex abuse crisis. And yet another would be the vocation crisis.
