Lilllabettt
This is sort of off topic. I think the term "African American" is not as approved of anymore. I mean in terms of being PC. I think the preferred term is "black" now. Because there are a lot of black people in America who don't have African ancestry. Caribbeans for example. Although I guess if anyone could be called African-American, it would be Senator Obama, since his family is from Kenya. It's an interesting evolution ... from negro to black to african-american to black again.

They call them Afro-Caribbean here in the U.K. Now Australian aborigines, on the other hand...well they aren't really from Africa but some of them look African. Whatever. I'll stop hair splitting and just say it's easiest to simply say "black".
Adrestia
And how long ago was all this? Futhermore, it would be one thing if they were supporting Obama because they knew anything about his political ideology (which, even if they did, they probably wouldn't care--stats showed that an overwhelming majority of black Americans believe OJ Simpson is innocent of double-murder--that is, they decided he was innocent even before the trial), but they are supporting him becuase somehow they have the misguided idea that having a black President is somehow going change their lives, like they are winning the lottery.
Your insight into the mind of Black Americans is amazing! Did you just attend the National Conference of What Black Americans Think? I missed it this year... so please continue to tell me what I believe. We're not capable of thinking independently. Even Colin Powell follows the decisions of the NCoWBAT.
TotusTuusMaria
if they voted for Obama. Truth be told I probally would to if i was an african american. They have been put through alot in this country. Can you really blame them that they are excited to see an african american as president ? Sure I would hope they would take oher issues into account when voting but at the same time I dont blame them if they vote for him just because he's black. Ok thats all.
I am a woman. The black man could vote before the white woman could. And even while the black man was allowed certain jobs, the woman still was not. While the black man could take part in certain activities, the woman could not. But yet, if Hilary Clinton were the D on the ticket and women were running around voting for her simply because she was a woman I would still think it a silly and ignorant reason to vote for her. The same I think of a black person voting for Obama. It is a silly reason, and it doesn't make the action of voting for Obama any less morally wrong. Thousands of more innocent lives are going to be taken if Obama wins this election. Just because someone is a certain color does not change the grave nature of voting for someone who will do all in his power to make sure the right to murder the innocent is legal. If the black people really want to stand up for their race, then they would not vote for Obama because their race, more so then any other, is being slowly wiped out by abortion, which Obama is 110% behind.
