That's your black side talking. Embrace your whiteness. Come to the coffee.

I actually begin most days with an energy drink, i guess i hope to give this up once i finish my education, but i kid you not, i can have half a can and it has me going smooth for like ten hours, a cup of coffee is good for three max. (so energy drinks just dont work in the later day)
other sorts of vitamin water or propel give me a boost.
I guess, being out in California, I was not raised on coffee, and saw it as the uppermiddle class drug of choice for white yuppies at Starbucks.

Coffee is so disgusting, Starbucks is the Palace of Gross. Red Bull is supposed to work better and as an added bonus it gives you wings.

Coffee's the best.

Actually, I'm gonna go make some right now, 'cause I got a bunch of school to do and it's about midnight here in the East U.S. Yay for procrastination!

My option isn't on there, I'm allergic to it, it gives me heart palpitations and shortness of breath, and I also get the shakes. This happens within 5-10 minutes of taking one or two sips. Ya, I know, it smells of elderberries.

CoffeeCatholic

you forgot something in your poll.

My vote would be:

Coffee: sent from God by his angels. mmmmmmmmm

While I may be a coffee fanatic, and I never ever drink Decaf (what's the point?) If I ever really need to wake up or stay awake, I drink Apple Juice. It's probably 2x more effective than coffee in the awake category, doesn't stain teeth, and has much better health benefits, including no shakes.

Seriously, look it up, Apple juice.

There's only one effect I ever noticed from apple juice, and I won't discuss it here...

Interesting.

The more coffee you drink the more caffeine you get.

A few things about coffee. The different roasts may have more/less caffeine. Darker roasts tend to have more. Furthermore, different companies have more as well. Starbucks has more caffeine in their regular coffee than a normal coffee. If you get expresso shots, it makes it more so. Their mixed drinks (the expensive ones people think of) have two shots in it.

During college I needed to stay up for long periods of time, especially during my last semester. I would usually do a starbucks venti hot brewed coffee with two shots (this came to about $2.15) and then drink regular coffee during the day. Was it healthy? Mos def no. However, what was I suppose to do? There were days when I was pinging off the walls that my mom had me run around the block. Which was good: fresh air and exercise.

You have to really be careful with drinking great amounts coffee. There is such thing as an overdose and toxicity. I think this happened once or twice to me. You begin to feel really sick and I was so hyper I wanted to jump out of my skin. It was a very uncomfortable feeling. However, it allowed me to get the stuff done that I needed to get done. Also, if you do the above regime you need to taper yourself off of it. Do not stop cold turkey. Coffee causes a caffeine addiction within a couple of days. If you stop cold turkey you will get a huge headache.

Keep in mind that coffee/caffeine may keep you awake but not necessarily alert. Your body can only take so much of no sleep. Driving, sewing, and other dangerous activities should be done on an alert mind rather than one jacked up on caffeine. Does it happen? Oh yeah. But it really isn't a good idea.

Quoted for truthiness. Besides, I prefer not to become addicted. One of my friends cannot function without her coffee. Part of that dependence might be psychological, but I prefer not to take the risk.
