Tinkerlina
Most people (myself included) go through at least one time where we really question our faith. It's nothing abnormal, but is a time for growth.
Thank you. I hope it proves to be a period of growth. It's hard to think that way right now. -Katie
Augustine
Thomas answered him, "My Lord and my God!" This was what the disciple Thomas said to Our Lord after he had put his hand in his side. Often these words are echoed in a whisper as we kneel before him on the alter during Mass. What stirs within us that makes us say these sacred words? I have found all arguments lack in one way or another. How can we argue for God when we do not even have words that begin to tell of his glory? How can we say we believe in objective truth when we are so ignorant that we do not even know what to say to a friend to console them when they are sad, or what to do when we see a poor man by the road? We say our confession in humble submission, but then we are all too ready to tell others how to live. Who has read the texts of the Buddhists? Have you held a Qur'an close to your heart as you utter your dying words? Though we never have we are all too quick to call these bad books and false prophets. Do we believe these things because they are true, or because we have been told they are true? We must be humble. God is so much and we are so little. There are more ways to see God than we have ways to see him, at least, as we are now. Humility prepares us for accepting the truth with an open heart. We must be careful when we close our hearts on something that the Church does not ask us to close our hearts on. Brothers and sisters, why can we so easily condemn but find it so hard to love? I am thankful for anyone who reads my message for letting me get this off my chest. I'm sorry I have only questions. Edited December 2, 2008 by Augustine
Ziggamafu

For a believer, his religion is always the true religion but, if you really want to know where you are, who you are and what you are hoping then, you must see and hear God Himself. There is no difference between ‘Nirvana’ of Buddhism and ‘Coming of Christ’ in Christianity and Islam.

Please see post #21; I will do my best to answer any further questions you can think of.
